THE MOMENT
Everybody has downlights. Nobody has this. You bring people in, take the lights down, and the ceiling comes up in hundreds of tiny points. Nobody says anything for a second or two. That is the whole product.
Most people know the idea from the starlight headliner in a Rolls-Royce. We have no connection to the marque. What we build is the same effect at room scale — over a bed, a bath or a row of cinema seats instead of a rear seat.
And it only exists when you want it to. By day there is nothing to see: the fibres finish flush in the plaster and the ceiling reads plain. It is the quietest luxury in the house until the moment it isn’t.
WHERE IT LANDS
The same trade reads completely differently depending on the room it goes in. Density, warmth and where the light sits are decided by what you do in the space.
A dense field overhead, dimmed low. No downlight burning in the corner of your eye, no glare washing the screen — just depth above you while the picture holds the wall. This is the room people ask to be invited back to.
A quieter scatter over the bed, turned right down. Warm, slow, no hum and no blue glare. It settles a room instead of lighting it, and it is dim enough to leave on all night.
The fibre ends carry light, not current, and they carry no heat. Nothing at the ceiling surface is electrical — which is why the sky can sit above a bath, a steam room or a pool, with the light engine outside the wet zone entirely.

THE DIFFERENCE
A fibre-optic ceiling has no electrics in it. One LED engine sits out of sight and every star is fed down a glass fibre. What arrives at the ceiling is light. Nothing else travels up there.
So nothing overhead gets hot, and nothing overhead conducts. That is why a star ceiling belongs above a bath, a steam room or a swimming pool, where a ceiling full of fittings never could. It is also why there is one unit to service instead of hundreds of bulbs, and why the fibres will still be doing their job long after a bulb would have gone.
It is the reason this trade suits the rooms people care most about — the ones with water, children or a very expensive screen in them.
THE CRAFT
Anyone can push fibres through a ceiling. Five things decide whether what you end up lying under looks like a night sky or a grid of dots.
A single LED engine feeds every star down the fibre. It lives in a cupboard, a loft or a service void — and it is the only thing anyone ever has to reach.
Mixed through the field so some stars read bright and near, others faint and far. That is where the depth comes from, and why a real sky never looks flat.
Stars gather in some places and thin out in others. If you can pick out rows from the bed, it has been set out wrong.
The engine breathes the field slowly, or holds it dead still. Steady, slow or off — your remote, your sky, changed from the sofa.
The fibres pass through a fresh plasterboard layer and are finished flush. By the last coat the ceiling reads as plain plaster. Nobody knows until you show them.
BEFORE YOU ASK
Yes — and this is the part most people do not expect. The fibre ends carry light, not electricity, and they carry no heat. There is nothing electrical at the ceiling surface at all, so wet rooms, steam rooms and pool halls suit them. The light engine sits outside the wet zone.
If you want them to. The light engine can hold the field steady or breathe it gently between settings — a slow shimmer, never a flash. You control it from the remote.
No. Over a bed it is dimmed low and warm, and the fibres give no glare and no noise. Turn it off with the remote and the ceiling reads as plain plaster again.
Usually not. In most homes we fit a new plasterboard layer beneath the existing ceiling, run the fibres through it and finish it flush. You give up a small amount of ceiling height, nothing more.
Almost none. The fibres have no electronics in them, and the single LED light engine sits somewhere accessible and runs for years. One unit to look after — not hundreds of bulbs.

We fit both; they are different products for different rooms.
Star count, room size, access and any plastering the ceiling needs around it all move the number, so every job is priced after a survey. Most star ceilings are fitted and finished within a few days; the survey confirms the schedule before we start.
HERITAGE — 2016
Before the marmorino, before the school, there were stars. When Daros registered his first company in 2016, the business on the paperwork read starlight ceilings. Fibre-optic night skies were the founding trade, and everything since grew out of them.
Ten years on the craft has never left the building. Every crew that fits a star ceiling in your house learned the fibre runs, the light engine and the flush plaster finish at the school first, and was signed off by Daros before they were let near a customer’s ceiling.
A SEPARATE OFFER
Some rooms want light overhead rather than dark. A printed sky is a full-colour galaxy, sunset or forest canopy on a stretch membrane, lit evenly from behind — a glowing picture, not a field of stars. It works in daylight, which a fibre-optic ceiling cannot.
Different product, different rooms. Printed skies lift windowless spaces — dressing rooms, salons, basements, corridors. Fibre-optic fields belong to rooms that go properly dark. We design and fit both, and the room decides which.

HOW IT WORKS
A photo of the ceiling and a rough size is enough to start. Tell us what the room is for — cinema, bedroom, bathroom, pool — and how dark it goes.
We come out, measure, check the void above the ceiling and the route back to the light engine. Nothing is quoted before this. Every ceiling is priced after the survey.
Star count, spread and density are set to your room on paper, before anything is cut. You choose steady or slow twinkle, and where the remote and the engine live.
A fresh plasterboard layer, the fibre runs, the engine sited somewhere you can reach, then plaster finished flush. Most rooms are done inside a few days.
We set the field with you standing in the room, hand over the remote and sign the job off. Booked centrally, guaranteed centrally, one number to call.
WHO TURNS UP
Star ceilings are fitted by crew certified on the trade at the Daros school — one standard, fifty locations. Booked centrally, guaranteed centrally. You never chase an installer.
